Luarca Consulting is able to offer design expertise relating to Water and Wastewater schemes through the considerable experience of their staff. Our principal expertise is Structural and Civil Engineering design and detail, which is complemented with other design disciplines, including Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Building Services Design - all undertaken by appropriately qualified and experienced personnel- to provide a complete package if required. Our key personnel have a proven track record in the UK water and wastewater sector, and have been involved in a diversity of schemes. Managing Director, John Stuart was personally responsible for the Structural and Civil Engineering concept and detailed design of the Mersey Valley Processing Centre [Shell Green] in Widnes, prior to establishing Luarca Consulting Ltd – an impressive £110 million scheme involving sludge dewatering and incineration, constructed in partnership with Tarmac Water International. The project ultimately won numerous accolades including “Winner of the 1999 Construction Industry Award for a major project”. From senior level, therefore, as a practice, we fully understand the requirements for coordinating such a project and appreciate the pressure and response required when operating within a Design and Build environment.
